Glass Panels and Sidelights Modernize Lincoln Entry Door
This Lincoln, Nebraska customer wanted to bring in more light through the front entry. The original door and sidelights had an opaque leaded-glass design that limited the amount of light shining in. The customer also wanted to remove an oddly-placed transom separated by a row of brick and to create a more contemporary look for the front entry.
Installers had to remove a transom window and a row of brick for the new door frame, which necessitated drywall work on the inside of the house.
The new front door has four clear glass panels and is surrounded by sidelights. The new entryway is brighter and more welcoming. The homeowner is not only very pleased with the updated look, she expressly stated, “I wish I would have done this years ago.”
Door Materials Used: (door) Pella Brand Flush Glazed Full Light, SDL 3 ½” Flat Grill, Oak Grain, Iron Ore Clad Frame, Direct Set Full Sidelights, Clear Glass, Factory Charcoal Stain on Interior and Exterior, Hardware is the Seattle Polished Nickel.
