In 1912, George Marvin founded Marvin Lumber and Cedar in Warroad, Minnesota. He spent decades establishing a reputation for customer care and quality workmanship, and in 1939 his son Bill joined the company as its eighth employee. Bill saw an opportunity to employ the veterans returning from war and took a chance on shifting the company’s focus to windows and the business saw the success it greatly deserved.
In time, Bill passed the business along to his four children and a new generation of Marvins continued the legacy, expanding into seven additional states.
The fourth (and now fifth) generations of Marvins are upholding the family’s name by continuing to deliver award-winning service and innovative technologies to the clients they serve.

- Energy Efficient –Marvin’s Ultrex® does a good job of illustrating the superior power of fiberglass against harsh weather, keeping it outside where it belongs.
- Durable Material – Windows are an important investment, and one you are hoping will last. Fiberglass meets that challenge head on, every time!
- Style Variety – Fiberglass offers more style customization options than other materials, ensuring you get the look you want without sacrificing functionality or efficiency.

Marvin Windows and Doors aren’t just fierce competition; they’re an excellent business who cares about their customers and the products they put their names on. We are proud to be competing against another company that understands the importance of windows for a home’s safety, appearance, and value. And Marvin knows the blistering cold of the far north. But Nebraska customers have unique needs, and for that, there’s Pella.
- Weather-Tested:
Pella’s proprietary Fiberglass can withstand Nebraska/Iowa’s highest temps, sub-zero blasts, year-round humidity, and tornadic winds without warping, leaking, or wearing out.
- Stronger Than the Competition:
Pella’s Fiberglass is the strongest window material currently available. And if there’s something stronger, we plan to be the first to find out.
- Energy Efficient:
Extreme temperature fluctuations can mean high energy costs, unless you have windows that can counter even the harshest conditions. Pella Fiberglass beats the competition for energy efficiency.
- High Value with Low Maintenance:
It doesn’t count as efficient if you are spending time, money, and resources on the upkeep of your windows. Pella Fiberglass doesn’t require repainting, won’t warp, and doesn’t rot. This is one investment you can truly count on.
- Backed By Unbeatable Warranties:
We are so confident in Pella’s Fiberglass that we have some of the best warranties in the industry. You can count on Pella windows, rain or shine, for years to come!
There is a lot to consider when investing in new windows, and it can be difficult to see beyond the keywords and catchphrases, but it comes down to a few key factors.
- Budget vs Long Term Investment:
Decide if you can afford to spend a moderate amount now for windows that last, or if you need to budget now and replace your windows again sooner. Financing is available to make the process as easy on you and your budget as possible.
- Climate Resistance:
Choose windows that can tolerate extreme temperature swings, high winds, and stormy weather.
- Energy Savings and Insulation:
Budget for windows that keep the extreme temperatures out, or plan to budget more for utility costs and insulating curtains.
- Aesthetic Preferences and Home Value Impact:
Find windows that positively contribute to your home’s curb appeal, and that will turn into an improved resell value.
